Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Engineering Intern is a temporary position that allows college students, studying a technical discipline, to work for PHOENIX to gain valuable business & technical skills that may be applied to their curriculum and to their future career. The intern will work closely with staff Engineers, Designers, Sales, as well as manufacturing resources from equipment operators through management level personnel. The primary role is to support the engineering group in any area where assistance is needed on daily tasks and projects where their abilities are applicable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Assist engineering department on assigned projects · Use CAD software to update product drawings and engineering drawings · Data collection related to identifying production improvement opportunities including Lean Manufacturing principles · Understand equipment troubleshooting methods · Assis other departments such as QA and Manufacturing with technical problem resolution · Work with and/or creating databases for data control, manipulation and evaluation · Desire and ability to work in a diverse, fast moving, manufacturing environment Requirements EDUCATION AND TRAINING: · Minimum 1 year of college study in Engineering, Industrial Design, or another relevant technical area EXPERIENCE: · 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred · 3D printing and post-processing · Proficient in MS Office with specific focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint · Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills for communicating within the organization · Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail · Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: · Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures EQUIPMENT USED: · Laptop · 3D printers · Calipers SOFTWARE USED: · Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, Mini-Tab CONTACTS: · Director of Engineering; Design Engineers; Mold/Tooling Engineer; Plant Engineers · Internal Customers: Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service · External Customers · Suppliers SUPERVISION: · Reports to Sr. Manager of Sustainability & Innovation
