ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

• Degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science or information technology).
• 7 years of experience working in IT support and Operations or 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Demonstrate an in-depth technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and security best practices.
• Patching experience of Linux and Windows Systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences on various topics.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Any other language (DE, FR) will be considered an advantage.
• Professional proven expertise in Microsoft and Linux systems administration.
• Information technology certification on Microsoft and/or Red Hat will be considered as an asset.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash / Shell.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Azure will be highly appreciated.( Azure Fundamentals or Administrator).
• Experience in the airline industry would be considered an advantage.

• Handle and resolve service requests and incidents related to middleware and system operations and applications.
• Maintain the IT ticketing system and knowledge base.
• Identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities in middleware and system infrastructure. Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement security best practices and policies.
• Perform regular patching and updates of Windows and Linux environments to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Oversee deployment, upgrading and migration of virtual and cloud environments.
• Monitor systems health and performance metrics, addressing any issues promptly and proactive.
• Identify opportunities for automation and create scripts or tools to streamline operations.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of automation processes to reduce repetitive tasks.
• Continuously ensure appropriate administrative and technical measures are in place to ensure Cargolux information systems stability and sustainability.
• Regularly perform and document backup/restore testing and execute procedures defined by the technology department.
• Stay up to date with infrastructure technology standards.
• Effectively collaborate with the support, technology, project teams and IT management to improve and maintain best in class IT services.
• Regularly educate IT colleagues and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Ensure 24/7 support of business-critical system by integrating the on call escalation team (on a rotation scheme).
