Job Title : Engineer - Layout Division : EnSci (Weir Minerals) Location : Bengaluru Purpose of the Role: This is a newly created position to support BU Engineering in layout engineering for comminution and mineral processing systems. The role focuses on the development of layout designs for test skids, pilot-scale units, and plant-level systems, involving the integration of comminution equipment and associated material handling components for mineral processing applications. Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Develop layout designs for comminution and mineral processing systems, including test skids and pilot-scale plants, with a focus on equipment integration and material flow. Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD layouts showing the arrangement of comminution equipment, bulk material handling systems (conveyors, chutes, hoppers), structural supports, and associated plant components. Design layouts in line with contract requirements, operational constraints, and maintenance access considerations. Collaborate closely with process, mechanical, structural, and project teams to ensure layouts meet technical, safety, and constructability requirements. Optimize plant layouts to improve throughput, operability, safety, and cost efficiency. Ensure all layout designs comply with relevant standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), with 5+ years of experience in layout engineering for comminution, mineral processing, or bulk material handling systems, supporting medium to large-scale projects. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience in developing layout designs for test skids, pilot units, and plant-level systems for mineral processing and comminution applications, with a focus on equipment integration and material flow. Ability to interpret process flowsheets and translate them into practical layout designs. Familiarity with the design of baseframes, bins, chutes, hoppers, structural supports, and associated bulk material handling components. Ability to participate in technical discussions with customers and cross-functional stakeholders. Proficiency in CAD tools such as UG NX, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Tekla, or similar layout/design software.
