Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Engineering, the Maintenance Engineer is a critical role in developing and executing engineering and capital strategies for the site to maintain safe, reliable, efficient operations. The role plays an integral part in the success of the facility by supporting initiatives that allow us to meet safety, environmental, financial, and capacity utilization targets. The successful candidate must be able to understand complex production facilities and equipment and be able to work independently to develop improvement proposals and to make decisions to resolve problem areas as required.
This position is located at our Redwater, Alberta, Canada site and is not available for remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Own mechanical design of plant changes through the MOC process
  • Analyze maintenance history and failure data to prioritize issues and opportunities
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies and tactics for fixed and rotating equipment
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations
  • Conduct equipment assessments during maintenance and inspection opportunities for repair quality, fitness for service, and life expectancy evaluation
  • Specify pressure equipment repairs
  • Develop equipment specifications and review equipment purchases and installations to ensure that equipment is built to recognized practices
  • Work with Site Trades Groups, Planners, Engineers, Inspectors, and Projects Groups
  • Support department long-term maintenance plan and asset management goals
  • Bring a high level of problem-solving skills and comprehension
