Job DetailsJob Location: MIAMI, FL 33137Position Type: Regular, Part-TimeGeneral Summary of Duties: Reporting to the Director, Operations and Logistics, the Maintenance Engineer performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to campus buildings, industrial systems, equipment and grounds, and monitors the buildings’ operations and performance. QualificationsEssential and Other Responsibilities (perform other duties as assigned): Under the direction of the Director, Operations and Logistics, monitor, operate, and maintain the buildings’ mechanical, fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure code compliant, efficient and uninterrupted building operations. Perform routine repairs, including doors, ceilings, floors, locks, drywall, masonry and painting at property interior and exterior. Immediately report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required. Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Support implementation of disaster preparedness procedures and emergency plan. Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance of building systems and maintain accurate logs, records and reports on maintenance, system performance and incidents to ensure compliance. Maintain equipment and tools in proper working conditions, including light electrical work, changing bulbs, ballast and fixtures, lubricating motors, inspecting and adjusting belts. Assist outside contractors or in-house employees with setting up, striking, repairing or constructing special projects, including but not limited to special installations and exhibitions. Perform event setup and breakdown tasks including but not limited to, tables, chairs, furniture, and audiovisual equipment, working as directed with the Operations team by following event set up diagrams for logistical operation needs. Complete all required Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) training to a satisfactory standard, and consistently adhere to all related policies, procedures, and requirements in daily activities. Safety Responsibilities Adhere to any safety and security policies of the organization and report any violations to management and People Operations. Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA safety protocols and environmental guidelines Where appropriate, provide feedback on ways to enhance the security and safety practices. Qualifications and Experience Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A minimum of three (3) years building maintenance experience. Preferred knowledge in all building systems operations, maintenance and repair, and compliance needs. Proficient in trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and tiling. Ability to understand general instructions in standard situations. Operate and use necessary work manual and power-driven tools. Strong communication and customer service skills. May require shift work, overtime, and/or on call duties. May be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments). Education and/or Credentialing Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) A minimum of two (2) years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following preferred: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
