Job Title: Engineer – Manufacturing  Job Summary  Provide support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, welding/brazing, assembly and material handling to optimize production output, reduce costs and increase part quality. In addition, may develop sequence of operations, estimate time requirements for each, and prepare operation sheets, work instructions and act as a resource to assist and troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues.   Responsibility  * Investigate and monitor new machinery and equipment. Find resolution of specific processing problems related to tooling, quality, etc. for assigned projects/parts.   * Planning and executing of projects related to new and pre-existing production lines, improvements, upgrades, layouts and new equipment related to machining or assembly.   * Conduct time studies to optimize cycle counts of existing processes.   * Conduct studies of the reliability and performance of plant facilities and production or administrative systems.   * Participate in corrective action to meet ongoing cost, quality and delivery.   * Develop, review, and train shop floor personnel on process flows, process sheets, FMEA’s, and control plans and operator instructions to endure accuracy and conformance to actual procedures; revise as needed. Attend Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and participate in Customer Focus Meetings.   * Assist in the preparation of quotations. Contact suppliers to verify product availability, obtain equipment specifications and negotiate timely deliveries.   * Review scale drawings to ensure the proposed designs satisfy the clients' standards and comply with manufacturing capabilities.   * Establish which materials and equipment to use for projects. Interface with suppliers of raw material and tools to establish engineering production requirements.  Academic/Educational Requirements  * A university degree or diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.    * Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) considered an asset.  Required Skills/Experience  * Minimum of 4 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment in an engineering role.   * Previous experience within machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC and special purpose equipment.   * Ability to write comprehensive entries into technical logbooks which are then used as reference documents.  * Experience with risk analysis and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).   * Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining i.e. Microsoft Office including Project, SolidWorks).   * Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written to discuss, coordinate, integrate work with various personnel.   * Ability to take precise measurements using specialized equipment and techniques.   What Linamar Has to Offer * Competitive Compensation  * Employee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc.   * Opportunities for career advancement.  * Sustainability Council  * Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities.   * Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.   About Us Linamar Corporation is a Canadian-founded global manufacturer, renowned for its advanced engineering and innovative product development across diverse industries and markets.
