To put it simply… You’ll use your mechanical engineering expertise on-site, where it matters most. As part of Hydro Tasmania’s Asset & Infrastructure (A&I) team, you’ll help deliver practical engineering solutions across our hydropower network.
This site-based role gives you the opportunity to apply your skills in the field, where you’ll be part of the action, working directly with assets, contractors, and project teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
As a Mechanical Engineer you will be…
✓ Providing technical guidance and design support for refurbishment and maintenance programs across various sites.
✓ Travelling regularly to hydropower stations across Tasmania to support project delivery.
✓ Reviewing and contributing to engineering documentation, reports, and standards.
✓ Solving real-time technical challenges and supporting commissioning, inspection, and defect resolution.
✓ Collaborating closely with project managers, production staff, and delivery teams on-site.
