Job Description As a Mine Engineer joining our Open Pit Planning Team you will play a pivotal role in planning, designing, and optimizing our Open Pit operation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment that’s embedded in daily operations influencing daily and weekly outcomes that directly impact safety, production, and cost performance. Location: Haile Gold Mine, South Carolina Department: Technical Services Reports to: Senior Engineer- Mining Schedule: Monday through Friday |Approx. 6:00am to 3:00pm with Flex Friday Position Type: Permanent Full- Time Develop and execute short-range mine plans aligned with weekly, monthly and quarterly production targets Partner closely with operations, geology, and drill & blast to optimize ore recovery and movement Generate and reconcile end-of-month (EOM) production data and mining progress Monitor and analyze plan compliance (daily, weekly, monthly) and identify improvement opportunities Create bench plans, dig plans, and dump designs to support safe and efficient operations Track and report on high wall, dump, and production performance metrics Provide clear and competent direction to operations teams to ensure plan execution Drive continuous improvement through data, field presence, and cross-functional collaboration Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related discipline 3+ years of open pit mine planning experience (planning + operations exposure strongly preferred) Hands-on experience with mine planning software (Deswik preferred, Vulcan or similar considered) Strong understanding of production environment, drill & blast, and material movement Ability to balance technical planning with real-world operational constraints Sharp analytical thinking with practical, actionable solutions Confident communicator who can influence and align teams High attention to detail Additional Information WHAT'S ON OFFER: Competitive salary + short-term and long-term bonus Comprehensive benefits package including health, vision and dental insurance, 401K, and more Great residential location close to Charlotte SC, and is located between the mountains and sea.
