ABOUT THE JOB.
National Highways are looking for a talented Engineer to become a key player in our Pavement Engineering Team, part of the Operations Directorate in the Midlands. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a skilled group of professionals to lead the design and execution of diverse pavement renewal projects. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing the strategic road network (SRN), ensuring it remains safe, efficient, and responsive to the evolving needs of our customers—today and for years to come.
Throughout the planning and development stage of a project, you will support with the activities and resources involved in the identification and development of early solutions for the pavement asset. Working with key stakeholders including project teams and third parties you will help coordinate works across the region, providing technical support and ensuring adherence to our defined asset class strategies, policies and standards
As a flexible working organisation we offer this role from either our Nottingham or Birmingham offices. From time to time there will be a requirement to travel between our offices and those of our stakeholders and partners. Please note that the role may also require work during unsociable hours.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
