Engineer Requirements “Schifferdienstbuch” with German stamp for the position “Maschinist” Qualification as ship mechanical engineer for river-going ships or any technical schooling Good level of German and/or English Experience with Caterpillar and/or Veth systems considered an advantage Experience on passenger ships considered an advantage Role and Responsibilities Represent the company values and visions Ensure professional and courteous service while managing the daily operation Maintain company standards and operating procedures Ensure the safety of the ship, the staff, and the passengers Adhere and enforce the company Safety Management plan Conduct quality controls and spot checks Perform technical maintenance to ensure a proper ship operation Perform work in the engine room, in guest’s suites and public areas Order adequate spare parts Plan and execute bunkering according to company procedures and environmental stewardship Plan and execute discharge of wastes according to regulations Work closely with the nautical team and shoreside offices to ensure a smooth nautical operation Side Tasks Assist the captain with preparations and supervision of winter repairs Report any accidents or incidents to the captain Identify “near miss” situations accordingly and follow up with reports Participate in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings
