Position: Engineer (Operations and Maintenance) MEP- Facilities Management Division - AKUH Pakistan Entity: Aga Khan University Hospital Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: You will be responsible for controlling any operational emergencies and ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of complex activities related to Air-conditioning, Mechanical. Electrical, Medical gasses, and Utility Services round the clock. Lead maintenance and operation of AKU entire Facility during shift operation. Ensure to provide a safe environment and uninterrupted services to retain and provide high-quality operation and maintenance service. conduct visits to the facility and identify prevailing risks and take prompt actions to reduce risks. Responsible to coordinate with various department heads to provide smooth services to ensure safety for users, patients, and staff. Conduct routine inspections of the facility and take proactive action to ensure a safe and risk-free environment. Responsibilities: Specifically, you will be responsible to: Ensuring operation of all mechanical, air-conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and utility services in shifts including evaluation of operational parameters of critical assets. Act as Operational and Maintenance Heads during, weekends, evening, and night duties. To manage emergency situations including fire and other disasters. To handle all external disasters resulting in utility services breakdowns and badly affecting health care service delivery. Coordinate with K-electric, KWSB, SSGC, Linde Pak, etc., and take further actions accordingly for service restoration. Achievement of Targeted Key Performance Indicators of the department quarterly as well as yearly wise. Review Computerized Management System (CMMS) and respond to users timely. Inspection of all critical assets and services and prompt rectification in case of any abnormality and taking corrective action in case of any deviation Taking key decisions in critical situations to handle emergencies. To coordinate with plant room management/staff for the effective utilization of their equipment. Requirements: You must have: Bachelor of Engineering (Preferred Field Mechanical) Minimum of 03 to 05 years of relevant experience (Preferably in the healthcare sector) Analytical abilities with problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, public speaking, and report-writing skills. Supervisory/ Managerial experience in huge complex or Teaching Hospital Extensive Knowledge about Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Building Management Systems, and their control. Manage engineering services including operation of Plants and Equipment, Good verbal, and written communication skills as well as the ability to train and guide staff
