JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer - Planning to join our dynamic team in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 Project Management Software for various construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Review and analyze contractors’ base schedules, recommending changes to optimize milestones and minimize critical paths.
  • Ensure conformity of contractors’ Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) with baseline cost and estimating structures.
  • Develop and establish progress metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and resource deployment plans.
  • Monitor and report on contractors’ regularly updated progress schedules, forecasts, and progress curves.
  • Analyze and reschedule activities to minimize or eliminate impacts on critical paths, reporting on the effects of such changes.
  • Prepare and develop detailed summary project control schedules, incorporating contractor schedules at a summary level.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cost engineers to support finance control, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Review and audit contractor-related procedures and processes, ensuring integration of scheduling across construction sites.
  • Prepare technical tender evaluations and various presentation and progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Handle claims and Extensions of Time (EOT) requests, conducting forensic schedule analysis when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project planning and scheduling for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 Project Management Software and other relevant project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with in-depth knowledge of FIDIC contracts, Work Breakdown Structures, and risk management techniques.
  • Extensive experience in handling claims, Extensions of Time (EOT) requests, and conducting forensic schedule analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical tender evaluations and bid analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and progress measurement techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with UAE construction regulations and standards is highly desirable.
  • Project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or planning (e.g., PMI-SP) certification is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UAE or obtain necessary work visas/permits.
