Contract Period: Permanent / 2-Year Contract   We are looking for high caliber staff to join the Planning & Design branch of our East & West Region. The incumbent may be rotated to work and gain challenging exposures in other Branches (e.g. Construction, Operations) of the Department. Reporting to the team leader, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties: *  Plan and design distribution system projects in accordance with relevant statutory regulations, design standards, code of practices, Supply Rules and technical guidelines * Liaise with other functions within CLP Power and external parties including developers, consultants and architects on the detailed requirements of individual projects and obtain agreement on interface designs * Carry out business development and renewable initiatives including Feed-in-Tariff (FiT), Data Centre development, Electric Vehicles development, innovation and sales-initiated opportunities * Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders on establishment and implementation of new policies, guidelines, processes and projects * Support first-time engineering and site trial on innovation projects * Perform functional and technical safety audit and quality assurance checks for both internal staff and contractors with reference to legislative requirements as well as pre-determined policies, Company procedures, HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) standards and programmes * Liaise and co-ordinate with various departments for project work, and plan, schedule and set up proper procedures and precautions to meet the Company’s requirements and Safety Rules * Ensure adequate and justifiable budgets are prepared for the activities of the Branch, and control the expenditure * Review safety, work and other documents prepared by subordinates or contractors to ensure compliance with procedures and cost control principles * Supervise, coach, appraise and motivate subordinates to meet present and future business needs * Ensure proper record updating and management * Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition / typhoon period, and carry out emergency repairs / shift duties as and when required   Requirements: * A recognized university degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline  * At least three years’ relevant engineering experience in electricity supply industry  * Familiar with CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules, engineering standards and codes of practice / management systems, occupational health and environment related legislations * Analytical and able to work under pressure and tight schedule * Strong sense of responsibility, with good safety knowledge and mindset * Good interpersonal and communication skills * Good knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate and AI-related tools * Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts in English and Cantonese, verbally and written * Possession of a valid Driving License (class 1, 2) is preferred   Candidates who demonstrate good potential for further development but with less qualification and/or experience will be considered for a position at lower grade.   ABOUT CLP CLP was founded in Hong Kong in 1901, at a time when electricity was still a novelty worldwide.
