Description
Contract period: Permanent/2-Year Contract   Applications are invited for the above vacancy at the Overhead Line Section in the Circuits Branch of Transmission Department. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:   * Supervise operation & maintenance, major repair and improvement projects of various transmission assets up to 400kV  * Carry out fault / defect investigation, diagnosis, analysis and repairs as well as prepare related detailed reports * Assist in preparing feasibility study, budget, design and engineering of transmission improvement / renovation projects in accordance with statutory, safety, technical, cost, quality, and customer requirements * Assist in application and monitoring of statutory permits and liaising with external parties * Assist in planning, monitoring and controlling project activities and implementing control procedures and practices in accordance with the Company’s management systems of health, safety, security, environment and quality (HSSEQ)  * Assist in management of contractor activities, negotiation and attending site meetings with various stakeholders for different infrastructure and external projects * Ensure proper record update in various management systems * Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition / typhoon period, and carry out emergency repairs as and when required   Requirements: * A recognized university degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline * At least 3 years’ relevant experience in engineering or managing transmission projects * Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules, engineering standards and codes of practice is preferable * Good safety awareness and mindset * Ability to work independently and meet tight deadline * Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage * Customer-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player * Being Authorised Person (AP) / Senior Authorised Person (SAP) would be an advantage * A valid Driving License class 1/1a and 2/2a would be an advantage   Candidates with less professional qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
