YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLSET AND ATTRIBUTES:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining, heavy industries, or petro-chemical plants
Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical or Electrical preferred or tertiary education in Asset Management / Reliability
Previous experience in Condition Monitoring and lubrication
Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
C Class Driver’s License
Minimum VCAT1 certification (preferable)
Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Hazard Analysis and Take 5’s etc
Project Management experience will be high regarded, specifically in managing budgets and schedules;
Experience with engaging and presenting to internal stakeholders as well as managing outside contractors;
Working within a team environment, however demonstrate the ability to work autonomously; and
A strong safety culture and work ethic are fundamental to your success in the role.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We currently have a vacancy for a Reliability Engineer to work within our Maintenance Department at the Copper Refineries. This is a residential role, based in Townsville, reporting directly to the Superintendent Refinery Maintenance. The roster worked for this position is day shift, Monday to Friday.
In this role you will provide reliability technical expertise, including managing our condition monitoring program, investigating and executing process and reliability improvements. Your daily requirements will include analysis of plant operation and reliability, working with the Maintenance and Operations teams for machine optimisation, engaging external contractors and suppliers, and assisting with forward planning of maintenance and operation strategies. You will be driven to achieve your targets in the safest and most cost-effective manner.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Coordination and completion of Vibration Analysis, Oil analysis, thermography, UT and other Condition Monitoring Techniques
Manages contractors for 3rd party crane, pressure equipment and other statutory inspections
Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures
Provide timely reports and expert advice to key stakeholders on suitable courses of action and monitoring implementation plans
Develop diagnostic tools to predict equipment failures and minimize the impact on production
Providing technical support to the Maintenance and Operational Teams
Provide specialist support to the maintenance team and lead improvements on lubrication systems
Ensure hazards within the maintenance workplace and the processing plants are identified and addressed
Raise notifications for any corrective work or inspection in the CMMS (SAP)
Coordinate support for QA/QC checks for critical equipment
Lead improvements condition monitoring across the Copper Refineries.
