Purpose
- Do you have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience as a Reliability Engineer in the mining industry?
- Do you understand heavy mobile equipment i.e. Shovels, Autonomous 793F Haul Trucks, Loaders, Drills, and other ancillary mining equipment?
- Are you able to interrogate equipment downtime& SAP Databases to identify Improvement Opportunities?
- Are you experienced in investigating equipment failures to determine root causes and corrective actions?
Duties
As part of our Asset Management Mobile Maintenance Team, you will help to develop and foster a culture that strives to continuously improve safety, reliability and cost performance.
Through coaching and mentoring operators, maintainers, Asset Management professionals and practitioners on reliability and maintainability programs and actively sharing knowledge, you will help drive continuous improvement activities throughout the entire life cycle of plant assets.
As an experienced Reliability Engineer your role will be to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This broad primary role can be divided into three smaller areas of responsibility:
- Defect Elimination
- Asset Maintenance Strategy
- Life cycle asset management (LCAM)
Key Duties
- Actively participate and contribute to safety improvements and environmental awareness
- Identify issues/defects and improvement opportunities by analysing equipment performance, process delays, costs, asset management KPI’s, and maintenance history (SAP)
- Develop project plans for reliability improvement initiatives through Newmont’s Defect Elimination Process
- Develop and manage equipment maintenance strategies using RCM methodology for new equipment and PM optimisation for existing strategies on equipment that is not meeting availability or reliability requirements
- Compile and distribute key asset performance indicators (availability, utilisation, MTBF, MTBS, MTTR)
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions using RCA guidelines to identify failure causes, containment and countermeasures as necessary
- Develop life cycle cost models for critical assets. Monitor and quantify equipment life cycle costs and utilise for investigating / adopting alternative strategies support capital replacement plan.
- You will have previous mining or heavy industry experience with previous maintenance reliability experience and a relevant engineering degree.
About you
YOUR DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:
- Strong background in using maintenance reliability methods i.e. defect elimination, criticality analysis, asset strategy development, operate for reliability, condition monitoring, etc
- Root cause analysis, problem solving and other analytical techniques
- Project management
- Effective planning and time management
- Strong understanding of Fixed Plant Equipment
- Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) facilitation and understanding of maintenance strategies using RCM principles
- Ability to lead and drive cultural change in a positive manner and influencing others on new concepts
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accurately and to work with cross-functional teams effectively
