WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering is specifically required.
• MEng in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in product development environment in aerospace or other high-tech industry.
• Fundamental understanding of mechanical design principles for aerospace applications, and the principles of the product development process.
• Advanced level application of engineering simulation software: demonstrated experience and expertise in applying FEA for static, dynamic, linear and preferably non-linear simulations.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in applying basic analytic techniques (hand calculations) as design tools and as verification for numeric methods.
• Experience in defining and designing experimental verification of designs (static strength or deformation testing / modal or vibration testing), and the correlation of this with simulated results, will be highly advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics, and their influence on the mechanical design of components and subsystems.
• Excellent 3D CAD modelling skills (Siemens products preferred) within a Product Lifecycle Management environment (Siemens Teamcenter experience preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly proficient at writing technical reports as required during various phases of the product development process.
• Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Programming skills (Python or similar) would be an advantage.
• Fundamental computer literacy: MS Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook), online collaboration tools e.g. Microsoft Teams / Webex etc.
• Team player, and self-starter, with the ability to work on and prioritise between different projects and interact effectively with the technical and management teams.
