Job Description
AECOM are currently a Structural Engineer, to join our Building Engineering team, in Abu Dhabi. The Structural Engineer will be at the forefront of creating elegant, efficient, and sustainable designs for a diverse range of projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to deliver structures that meet and exceed expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8 years post-undergraduate experience or minimum 6 years post-undergraduate experience if chartered
  • Experience in residential, high rise or hospitality projects
  • B. Sc or BEng in Civil / Structural Engineering, International Accreditation preferred (MIstructE or equivalent).
  • Local Authority Engineer registration preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Develop structural designs and detailed engineering calculations for buildings, bridges, and other structures.
  • Use advanced analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD, Rhino) and Grasshopper) to model and optimize designs.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports in collaboration with CAD technicians and BIM specialists.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and structural investigations.
  • Ensure designs comply with local building codes, standards, and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet client expectations.
  • Attend design and site meetings to monitor progress and resolve technical challenges.
  • Utilize advanced structural analysis software to model and simulate different design scenarios.
  • Design structural elements such as beams, columns, and foundations to withstand loads and stresses.
  • Optimize designs to achieve maximum efficiency while adhering to safety codes and standards.
  • Work with architects and clients to develop innovative and sustainable design concepts.
  • Create initial sketches and prototypes to explore design possibilities and technical solutions.
  • Incorporate cutting-edge materials and construction techniques into design proposals.
