ABOUT US:

At Blackburn with Darwen BC we are dedicated to maintaining and developing our road network. Our team of experts ensure the safety and longevity of our road network and our highway structures across the Borough.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Engineer to join our team and help us achieve our mission, to make Blackburn with Darwen a great place to live.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Engineering qualification Level 4 or 5, HNC / HND or similar.
• Previous experience in bridge or structure inspections, engineering principals and design of structural maintenance schemes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide a technical point of reference for all Highway Structures
• Deliver the Highway Structures Inspection Regime.
• Coordinate and manage a team of inspectors.
• Identify issues and defects and interpret their effects on our structure stock
• Propose solutions; design, implement and supervise maintenance schemes
• Investigate and respond to enquiries
• Support the implementation the councils Technical Approval Process
• Ensure compliance with current codes of practice,
  The role will also involve a combination of office, home, outdoor and loan working and you will be required to effectively manage your own time.
