Job Description: You will be responsible for creating technical illustrations using a range of software tools to support multiple long-term projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major, long-term initiatives as part of the Illustration Team, which sits within the wider Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) department and is dedicated to producing high-quality technical illustrations. Core duties: Providing input and support to the Senior Engineer (Illustrator) to aid in the production and management of Technical Illustrations for both current and future projects within the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) department Creating and amending a wide range of Technical Illustrations and System Diagrams in-line with Programme requirements Interpreting technical data including (but not limited to) drawings, manufacturers handbooks and design safety information Essential Skills: HNC, HND, Degree in Technical Illustration/Graphics or equivalent experience in industry Full working knowledge and technically proficient in illustrating tool sets such as (but not limited to) PTC Arbortext IsoDraw to create Computer Graphics Metafiles (CGM) Ability to work with multiple and varied sources of information to create technical illustrations and system diagrams to a common specification (S1000D) The Team: Join our team as an Engineer – Support Engineering (Technical Publications) in Filton, and become part of an organisation that has been safely delivering world-class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
