Description Summary: Oxbo Forage is seeking an Engineer Technician to support research and development projects in the engineering department. We are seeking an individual who is willing and eager to learn and has a passion for agriculture. Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility: Assist in developing and building new prototype products for the engineering Appropriately install new parts on machines in preparation for testing Provide test feedback via the DRL system Diagnose machinery issues with direction from engineering Communicate effectively with engineers and test partners Maintain good relationships with test partners Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures Adheres to company quality protocols and processes Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook Performs other related duties as assigned by R&D lead Drive 6S activities in the R&D shop Skills and Abilities: Ability to fabricate parts, weld, and understand electrical/hydraulic systems Welding to account for ~30% of the work Ability to learn new procedures with little instruction/guidance Ability to prioritize workload Knowledge of 6S practices Ability to troubleshoot problems and improvise as necessary Ability to climb into tractors and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Good time management skills Ability to work in a constantly changing environment Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills needed to communicate with engineers and test partners Ability to work with minimal supervision Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to test sites or customer visits. Willing to learn how to use HBM for data acquisition Requirements Qualifications: Occasional use of Microsoft Office and Solidworks E Drawings Ability to read weld drawings is a must Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics A technical degree is preferred but not required A passion for agriculture Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
