Brief Description:  • Engineer Test Engineering X • Should be  able to Own and execute software testing activities Responsibilities: Own and execute testing activities for complex software and firmware features across releases. Collaborate closely with Development and Product Management during feature design , Scrum test and Proof of Concept (PoC) stages to validate feasibility, testability, and risk. Perform hands-on manual testing of pre‑release features and functions to assist developers in debugging and issue isolation. Analyze product and system requirements from a customer and end‑user perspective, and translate them into detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases. Execute test cases at black‑box, grey‑box, and white‑box levels as required. Participate in defining test strategy and test approach for new features, products, and product lines. Actively log, track, verify, and retest defects using the designated defect tracking system; ensure high‑quality defect reports. Work with Development and Product teams to prioritize defects, perform root‑cause analysis, and validate corrective actions. Identify product risks, dependencies, and edge cases, and proactively escalate quality concerns. Participate in peer reviews, requirement reviews, design reviews, and test plan reviews. Prepare and present test execution reports, defect metrics, and release readiness summaries. Contribute to the definition and improvement of test processes, templates, and best practices across the QA team. Support knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior QA engineers. Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed and cross‑functional teams.   Knowledge and Skill Requirements Core Skills 7–8 years of hands‑on experience in software testing and quality assurance. Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and test life cycle. Proven ability to independently own and drive testing for complex features or subsystems. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Testing & Tools Strong expertise in test methodologies, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management. Hands‑on experience with Test and Defect Management tools (e.g., TestRail, Testmo, Jira, ALM, or similar). Experience working with REST APIs, including test design and execution using tools like Postman (scripting required). Knowledge of test metrics and ability to interpret quality trends. Technical Skills (Must Have) Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems and command‑line tools (BASH). Experience in configuring, testing, and troubleshooting networked devices and appliances. Solid understanding of TCP/IP and UDP‑based networking concepts, wireshark, routing, switching. Hands‑on experience deploying and configuring Virtual Machines (VMware / vSphere). Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, JavaScript, or equivalent for test automation or utilities. Good understanding of database concepts and ability to work with SQL queries for test validation. Nice to Have / Preferred Skills Experience with test automation tools (e.g., TestComplete, QTP/UFT, RFT, Selenium‑based tools). Familiarity with network and management protocols such as DHCP, SNMP, IPMI, SMTP, LDAP. redfish Experience with remote management technologies (SSH, RDP, VNC). Exposure to SOA principles and SOA testing tools. Exposure to AI tools Cloud, Systems & Networking professional Certifications will be added advantage.
