Summary: This role will support a Global Automotive OEM by using multiple AR/VR/XR tools to prepare and run PoC (Proof of Concept), Design Proposal review sessions, help Feature Exploration development and Vehicle Development Teams confirm items related to appearance, visibility, and usability to increase decision confidence, accelerate the development pace, and reduce costs such as travel time, rapid prototyping for multiple mobility products. Responsibilities: Execute daily xR/VR/MR simulation requests, including setup, execution, and script generation Support design reviews and simulation events for engineering teams Maintain xR system readiness (hardware & software) Develop and maintain process documentation, system schematics, and knowledge guides Assist with VR hardware/software research, integration, and troubleshooting Collaborate with internal development teams and external vendors Import data from Catia V5 and 3DX into other VR software using several formats, and apply color, materials, finishes, and shadows to the data as required by the review purpose. Work with stakeholders to understand the purpose of each review, along with the scope and schedule. Correlate closely with Physical Build and Technology Buck/prototype members to determine the best combination of physical/virtual elements to achieve review targets. Choose the appropriate software and method to achieve review session targets. Prepare the data, options, controls, menus, physical bucks, and object trackers for efficient local/global multi-site reviews. Continuously improve virtual validation experience and toolset with new methods, hardware, and software, keeping current with industry trends and cutting-edge innovations Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of industry experience using & implementing digital validation tools (i.e AR/VR/XR tools, etc) to build human level simulated environments Education with the following specialties preferred: Computer Science, Graphics Design, Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive. Experience with Software and tools such as Catia V5/V6/3DX, Autodesk VRED, IC.IDO, Unity, Unreal, Steam, Python coding/scripting, Optical tracking systems (e.g., ART), other AR/VR/XR tools. Cinema or Stage set design experience is a plus. Exposure to Camtasia or equivalent video editing tools is a plus. Ability to interpret detailed schedules and prioritize activities. Ability and motivation to learn new technical skills with little direction or oversight. Creative mindset with the ability to visualize full sensory validation environments with the capacity to lay out the steps for implementation. Travel to client sites required.
