ASRC Federal is seeking two Engineering and Facilities Support Interns who will assist the KEOS team in maintaining and improving facilities across Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. This role is a temporary, onsite position. Work location: Onsite in office environment located at Kirtland Air Force Base. Local candidates preferred. Relocation assistance, housing, or stipends are not provided. Security: Must be a US Citizen to successful complete a government issued background investigation and access government site (must have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years) Program dates:10-week summer internship, June 1 – August 6, 2026 Hours: 32 hours per week Education: Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Must be a current junior, senior or graduate student in college at the time of application submittal. Summary: This position offers hands-on exposure to engineering design, facility assessments, construction oversight, and the Air Force’s facility management system (NexGen IT). The intern will work alongside experienced engineers, construction managers, and technical specialists to support ongoing base operations and infrastructure projects. Key role: Participate in design reviews, facility inspections, and project documentation. Assist engineers with facility condition assessments and data collection efforts. Support construction oversight by observing field work, recording progress, and tracking project status. Learn and utilize NexGen IT, the Air Force’s enterprise facility management system. Learn and utilize SMS BUILDER for tracking of all Real Property Installed Equipment and its condition. Perform data entry and quality control related to facility and project records. Contribute to technical reports, drawings, and presentations as needed. Generate and present complex technical information in a simple accessible way for a broader audience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, planning, and maintenance personnel. Basic qualifications: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Basic knowledge of engineering drawings, construction processes, or building systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, or GIS is a plus.
