Description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Engineering Assistant to support our engineering team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in our projects by providing administrative, technical, and logistical support. You’ll help ensure our engineering operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the successful completion of various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Document Management: Organize, maintain, and update engineering documents, drawings, specifications, and reports using established filing systems (both physical and digital).
  • Data Entry & Reporting: Accurately input data into engineering software, databases, and spreadsheets. Assist with generating reports, charts, and presentations as required.
  • Administrative Support: Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and manage correspondence for the engineering department.
  • Project Coordination: Assist engineers with project-related tasks, including tracking progress, coordinating with other departments, and monitoring timelines.
  • Research & Procurement Support: Conduct basic research for project needs and assist with preparing purchase requisitions for materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide basic technical assistance, which may include setting up equipment, performing simple tests under supervision, or gathering field data.
  • Communication: Serve as a communication link between engineers, other departments, and external vendors or clients when necessary.
  • Quality & Compliance: Help ensure all work adheres to company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates degree in engineering technology, IT, Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred. A high school diploma or GED combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with engineering-related software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings or schematics is beneficial.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and eager to learn new technical concepts and tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • May require occasional lifting of light to medium-weight objects (up to 25 lbs.)
