Description
The Engineering Business Manager leads the Engineering Business Management team for EMEA Aero Engineering, based in Brno. The role oversees two core areas: Project Planning & Controlling, ensuring effective financial and operational management of the engineering project portfolio and Business Analytics, providing high-quality data, insights and reporting to support decision-making for Engineering leadership and cross-functional partners. The role carries full people management responsibility for a team of 10–15 professionals and requires close collaboration with EMEA Engineering leaders, US Aero partners, local Finance teams and others. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model. Honeywell Since the invention of autopilot in 1914, we’ve been a leader in innovation for the Air Travel industry. Key responsibilities Project Planning & Controlling Lead the project planning and controlling team for EMEA Aero Engineering. Own project budget control, including forecasting, variance analysis, regular financial tracking. Ensure accurate and timely milestones reporting for the EMEA engineering project portfolio including timely status reporting. Manage and monitor fill rate and demand reporting across EMEA Engineering teams. Consolidate inputs and insights for project review meetings and other governance forums, deltas reporting, corrective actions proposals. Partner with Engineering leaders and Finance to support decisions on project priorities, resourcing, spending and other project factors, collaborating with shared functions (Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Accounting and others) to streamline cooperation. Business Analytics & Reporting Lead the business analytics team responsible for data processing, analysis, visualization and reporting. Drive trends analysis and report‑outs for senior Engineering stakeholders (census, demand, fill rate, engineering productivity, project milestones, adherence to talent acquisition processes, targets and others). Own census and position/requisition management and reporting for Aero EMEA Engineering, ensuring data quality and full alignment with affordability calculations and business needs and plans. Define, track, and continuously improve key performance indicators such as utilization, productivity, and other engineering performance metrics. Coordinate AOP‑related data and processes for Engineering, including consolidation, scenario analysis, adherence to timelines. Ensure clear, consistent communication of AOP to Engineering teams, US partners, local Finance teams. Leadership & People Management Provide day‑to‑day leadership to a team of 10–15 professionals across Aero EMEA EOPS EBM team. Set goals, priorities, development plans aligned with EMEA Aero Engineering strategy. Own performance and behavioral evaluation of direct reports, MRR and TRR processes and succession planning. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance, coach and develop team members to strengthen the professional capabilities. Build strong partnerships with EMEA Engineering teams, Finance, HR and other global counterparts to align standards and ways of working. Processes, Tools, Continuous Improvement Standardize and continuously improve project planning and controlling processes as well as data analytics and reporting processes across EMEA Engineering. Drive effective use of reporting tools, dashboards and data sources to enable self‑service and transparency. Oversee maintenance and development of internal tools. Identify opportunities to automate and streamline recurring reporting and analytics tasks, AI engagement. Support implementation of Aero global standards and best practices in Engineering Business Management. Key skills and qualifications Solid experience in project/program management, finance/controlling, business analytics, or similar roles, with a strong emphasis on professional history and acquired skills. Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering management or business analytical roles, with a proven track record in data analytics, project management or a related filed. Proven experience in effective team work in an international environment. Strong understanding of business resources planning and utilization, project financials (budgeting, forecasting). Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders. Experience working in a global, matrixed organization, preferably with EMEA and US interfaces. Strong analytical, project managerial and financial acumen. Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
