Description SUMMARY: We are hiring an Engineering/CAD Operator Apprentice to assist our Engineer 20 – 30 hours weekly 1st shift. In this role, The Engineering / CAD Operator Apprentice supports the engineering and design team by creating, updating, and maintaining technical drawings and documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This entry-level apprenticeship provides hands-on training in drafting standards, engineering processes, and manufacturing or construction design practices while developing technical and professional skills. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. High school diploma or GED. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to learn technical software and processes. Operate with a sense of positive energy and urgency. Ability to work effectively in both a team and autonomous environment. Able to adapt to the company’s culture, work safely, and possess a positive attitude. YOUR ROLE: Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings under supervision Assist engineers and designers with project layouts and technical documentation Maintain accurate drawing files, revisions, and records Interpret sketches, specifications, and engineering instructions Ensure drawings comply with company and industry standards Support project teams with measurements, calculations, and material take-offs Participate in design reviews and team meetings Learn and apply safety, quality, and drafting procedures Organize electronic files and maintain document control systems Assist with prototype, fabrication, or installation documentation as needed WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Monday thru Friday, minimum 20 hours; flexible schedule between the hours of 8a – 4p. COMPENSATION & SHIFT: Starting $17+; commensurate with experience and knowledge
