Description We are looking for a qualified Engineering Co-Op to support development and production activities related to composite part manufacturing. This is a pre-career position. The ideal candidate will have completed at least one year of schooling in either materials science, chemical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering. They should have an interest in solid rocket motors, hypersonics, missiles systems, space exploration, re-entry vehicles, or aerospace systems in general. They will be expected to maintain safety and productivity while working within a quality system, and they will support all aspects of production from supply chain management, to part production, and final delivery. The Engineering Co-Op will perform a wide variety of hands-on activities including, but not limited to: kitting, molding, fabrication, finishing, R&D, characterization, and quality control. WIllingness to work for consecutive terms (6 months) is a plus, but not required. Requirements Applicant must be an exclusive US Citizen Active enrollment in a B.S. Engineering program required Experience with SolidWorks is a plus Experience working with composite materials is a plus Experience working with high temperature composites such as C/C or CMCs is a significant advantage General mechanical/technical aptitude and good manual dexterity required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously and under pressure and complete all assigned tasks Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and perform basic math calculations Ability to solve problems using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster a cooperative work environment Possess a working knowledge of MS Office Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery Candidates will be required to pass a drug test Candidates will be required to pass a background check
Responsibilities
