Job Responsibilities:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Integrated/Mechatronics/Electrical Degree/Diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Understand, promote and work by Magna’s philosophies and the Employee Charter.
- Create/modify CAD drawings of components, tooling or workstations.
- Able to work in various locations inside and outside of the plant.
Travel to customers/vendors to investigate quality concerns; tooling build process and buyoffs.
- Involved in projects at any stage from inception to completion. (i.e. timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off, prototype programs, engineering changes, packaging, etc.).
- Update and create documents such as timelines, Bill of Materials, die status sheets, and program management documentation.
- Organizing and facilitating meetings.
- Create and organize files to support the Cosma Program Management Process (CPMP)
- Prepare cycle-time analysis and/or time studies, to facilitate line balancing. Prepare reports, charts and other documentation required for engineering records and projects (i.e. timelines, budgets, open issues, scope of work, etc.).
- Work in a safe, organized, effective, efficient and proactive manner.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Assist in developing material handling logistics (i.e. Isle layout, bin placement, dunnage assists, etc.).
- Provide assistance with internal instruction of new equipment or processes.
- Assist in setting up preventative/predictive maintenance requirements.
- Actions to resolve quality issues (i.e. Corrective Actions, part fit-up).
- Assists in Special Material Runs requirements and Service Part requirements.
- Helps order and control incoming pre-production components for special builds.
- Support engineering change procedure with specific outline responsibilities.
- Provide product design direction based on part manufacturability
- Perform other duties as designated.
