Responsibilities

As the Engineering Co-Op Intern, you will ensure safe, reliable and quality technical blasting service through the effective design and appropriate use of explosives. You will use advanced blasting instrumentation and software to deliver cost saving solutions to customers, while supporting Dyno Nobel’s vision of leading the industry with customer partnerships. Other duties will include:

  • Manage individual project related expenses (materials & travel).
  • Contribute to achieving team revenue goals as defined by DynoConsult P&L.
  • Assist with conducting pre-blast surveys e.g. face profiles, borehole deviation measurements, blast geometry measurements, product sampling, safety audits, etc.
  • Assist with blast performance measurements, e.g. digital high-speed video, vibration monitoring, vibration modelling, velocity of detonation, dynamic pressure, SHA, etc.
  • Learn to conduct post blast assessments, etc. fragmentation measurement, time studies, volumetric measurements, blast reporting & documentation.
  • Conduct time studies on personnel and equipment throughout an operation including: drill and blast operations, truck-shovel loading, dragline, dozer assist, crushing process, etc.
  • Support product management in key product application and technology initiatives including support to business objectives.
