Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineering Co-op Student is responsible for learning and developing quality engineering initiatives, project management, and leadership skills while actively undertaking and accomplishing projects assigned to them.
These projects will target improvement on the product quality by improving processes on the Hot End (fiberizing, curing, etc.), the Cold End (sizing, etc.), and by training the plant employees. The Quality Engineering Co-op Student will be responsible for setting Key Performance Indicators based on the quality results or complaints and will have to do some data analysis to provide suggestions to his/her manager on possible improvements. He/she will report daily on the quality results during the production meeting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead technical projects on the quality and the process in collaboration with other departments (engineering, maintenance, etc.)
  • Responsibilities include designing / developing new process systems, reviewing and revising existing processes, and developing and coordinating the implementation of projects, which contribute substantially to the product quality and the plant profitability.
  • Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection and analysis to monitor process performance.
  • Identify required process modifications and enhancements, develop plans and follow implementation. Study the benefit / cost and make design recommendations.
  • Develop work instructions and assist in training and implementation of process operating procedures to ensure consistent production of products with the quality and efficiency at the highest level.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Autonomous Maintenance activities.
  • Participates in the Quality and Process Control Pillar as a key support in analyzing operating problems, develops solutions, and assists in the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Participates in providing training for operators, line attendants and production personnel.
  • Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, and supports VMVO and WCM initiatives.
    Hour work : 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday (the hours may vary)
