Description

We have exciting opportunities for engineering co-op students in our state-of-the-art sawmills in southern, central, and northern NB and in Truro NS.

Responsibilities may vary depending on site specific requirements. General responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate projects by working alongside contractors and mill personnel to determine scope, planning, and execution of work packages for mill projects
  • Lead specific projects with a team of sawmill staff and millwrights
  • Work alongside senior management and site leaders to drive improvement throughout the site
  • Champion safety, quality, and efficiency on the floor
  • Learn the ins and outs of sawmill production and identify areas for improvement
  • Engineering student in good academic standing, returning to school
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High energy level with thorough attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to improve operational processes
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities
  • Enjoy working in a team-oriented environment with Mill Staff, Unionized Trades People, Operators, Contractors and Suppliers to ensure projects are completed in a cost effective, timely, and safe manner
  • Strong administrative abilities and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
