KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this leadership role, you will oversee the operational management of the Engineering and Commissioning department, covering the full spectrum of automation and electrification — from project engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning to quality management and continuous improvement. You will ensure strict compliance with company policies and health, safety, and integrity standards while driving a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• You lead and develop your department by implementing business action plans aligned with the company strategy, managing budgets and resources, applying performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement in processes and operations
• Ensuring operational excellence and compliance by enforcing internal and external regulations, ABB’s Code of Conduct, safety standards and core values, and promoting a strong culture of integrity, health, safety and environmental responsibility
• Taking ownership of safety and risk management by assessing hazards, developing mitigation measures and ensuring the well-being of all employees and contractors within your area of responsibility
• Leading and empowering your team by fostering a positive work environment, organizing and staffing your area effectively, and developing high-performing teams through guidance, mentoring and motivation – all within the framework of ABB’s leadership values and HR policies

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related technical field, combined with extensive expertise in automation and electrification technologies and hands-on experience in complex industrial project environments
• Several years of professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, or commissioning, including proven leadership responsibility and a strong understanding of project-based business models
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for team development, coaching, and fostering a collaborative work environment
• Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
• Fluency in German and English, with a willingness to travel occasionally as required by project demands
