Apprentice Training Program – developing the careers of our site-based Apprentices
Engineering Graduate Program – 2 Year structured development program for Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
Engineering Trainee Program – 3 Year extended career pathway delivering tertiary qualifications and leadership training for tradespeople.
Engineering Undergraduate Vacation Program – helping to support and develop Mechanical & Electrical Engineering university students
Engineering Statutory Development Training Program – provision of training plans, resources, coaching and mentoring of future leaders obtaining statutory certificates of competency.
Trade & Professional upskilling courses – identifying and establishing courses and partners to deliver current and future trade skills
The Engineering Coordinator - Training and Development will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of the above programs across our New South Wales operations.
Reporting to the NSW Engineering Manager, we are seeking leaders with experience, enthusiasm, and passion for development of personnel to join the GCAA Engineering Team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Facilitate the engineering training programs in NSW including:
Maintaining and updating strategic plans, projects, and initiatives to meet current and future engineering skills and competencies.
Lead and coordinate recruitment activities.
Developing and managing partnerships with TAFE, Universities, RTO’s and training providers.
Establish and updating training plans, schedules and resourcing to successfully deliver programs.
Managing rotations across operating sites and with other partners.
Prepare budgets and manage delivery of engineering training programs
Identify, develop and facilitate ongoing training to maintain trade skills and proficiency

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years industry relevant experience in Electrical or Mechanical engineering roles, with a sound awareness of engineering responsibilities and competencies used across operating sites.
Demonstrated experience and involvement in delivery of training programs and recruitment.
Understand the Australian Qualifications Framework, Training packages and competency assessments (desirable).
Strong communications and leadership skills to lead and influence senior leadership teams, internal, and external stakeholders to implement and support training programs, projects and initiatives.
The ability to establish and maintain strong, effective relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Good interpersonal skills, empathy, and passion to support, regularly engage and care for the development of our people.
Flexibility to travel around our NSW operations on a regular basis to complete role responsibilities.
The role will be based in Newcastle or the Hunter Valley, NSW.
