CLP Systems is looking for a highly qualified intern to join our team. Our design team supports our customers and project managers to simplify tie down hardware and create great customer experiences in a rapidly growing industry. CLP Systems seeks an intern who can bring consistent quality and lead in various aspects of system design and quality control. The intern should be prepared to work in a team environment and possess high leadership abilities. The intern will finish the internship having gained a strong understanding of the importance and function of shearwall and uplift hardware, as well as broad experience in various aspects of AutoCAD detailing, shearwall and uplift hold down design, RFI and submittal review processes, submittal quality control, national structural and architectural standards, and valuable leadership skills . Responsibilities Check incoming files (Structural and Architectural PDFs and CADs, etc.) to ensure they are usable and contain parts and components required by CLP Systems. Create or update records with new files and information. Utilize AutoCAD to produce shop drawing submittals For Approval and For Construction Detail concrete and framing cut sections, rod system wall sections, and symbol layouts Utilize Revu Bluebeam to identify loads, design requirements, and details in structural and architectural packages pertaining to the design of our system Design and review tie down system components using in-house Excel VBA design program Apply engineering concepts to improve system design and identify opportunities for cost savings Qualifications Requirements CLP Systems is looking for an undergraduate student in the Birmingham, AL area who is majoring in engineering or associated field of study. The person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, work effectively in a team environment, produce consistent quality, and have a proactive mindset with engineering knowledge and design experience. Candidates who possess strong leadership capabilities will be highly considered.
