Join our award-winning team and make a difference that defines you. RVA is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer to join their Land Development team in Toronto. The role will involve all facets of land development engineering including preliminary servicing studies, design of site servicing, grading, drainage & stormwater management, utility engineering, and construction related services.    Duties:  * Prepare detailed site plans, grading plans, and servicing designs (watermain, sanitary sewer, storm drainage) for land development projects. * Perform stormwater management calculations and prepare storm water management reports. * Prepare functional servicing reports. * Assist with quantity calculations and preparation of tender documents. * Develop Civil3D surfaces and digital terrain models (DTMs) from topographic survey data and create pipe network layouts, profiles and corridors. * Incorporate redline markups from senior engineers and project managers onto design drawings. * Maintain, implement, and adhere to company CAD standards, templates, and layering conventions. * Coordinate with clients, external and internal project teams to meet deadlines. * Liaise with external stakeholders (i.e. municipalities) to secure permits/approvals. * Undertake pre-design site reconnaissance. * Assist with preparation of tender documents. * Develop cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and assist with site inspections or as-built records. Qualifications:  * Must possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized University.  * 2-6 years of relevant experience, preferably with an engineering firm. * Eligible for P. Eng. Designation. * A strong knowledge of Civil 3D.  * Excellent command of the English language and the ability to communicate proficiently, both verbally and in writing. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.  * Excellent writing skills.  * Ability to work independently and in an interactive team atmosphere.  * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, project team members and clients.  * Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on municipal systems. * Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and familiarity with municipal design standards, codes, and regulations.
