YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • High school diploma or related field (technical certificate or apprenticeship acceptable with experience).
  • 2 years experience with automotive, technical testing, or other area of expertise relevant to the role
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the engineering community, test requesters and internal organization positions
  • Partnership and teamwork skills, with the ability to learn and share knowledge with co-workers in a supportive environment
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Associates degree or 2+ years of experience with chassis dynamometer testing / Lab operations experience
  • Test Automation Systems test setup and troubleshooting knowledge (example: AVL, Burke Porter, PUMA, iTest, etc.)
  • Understanding of Global Manufacturing System (GMS) / Lean Manufacturing principles
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Milford’s Energy Labs PMD Team is seeking test technicians to help us grow into the future! These positions entail many facets of ICE and EV vehicle testing, on outdoor chassis dynamometers.

Working with our non-intrusive Stahle driving robots and engineering community, you will perform a variety of testing, including:

  • Vehicle verification and certification preparation
  • Production vehicle issue troubleshooting/verification
  • Create automated calibration and correlation tests with engineering community
  • Automated diagnostic trouble code verification (ABOB)
  • Mode simulation correlation and validation
  • Vehicle/vehicle systems calibration creation and verification
  • Production vehicle issue troubleshooting and verification (RedX)
  • Special requests test creation and validation
  • Several others

WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

Using our Test Automation Systems, non-intrusive Stahle driving robots and 18 chassis dynamometers, we perform testing around the clock. These positions are for technicians who have experience in core skill areas and enjoy working with a team.

In this role you will handle project assignments with some supervision. Daily tasks include:

  • Setup and troubleshooting test automation systems and non-intrusive driving robots
  • Troubleshooting / investigate mechanical and electrical operational abnormalities and concerns
  • Evaluate testing data and report results / recommend corrective action
  • Interaction with calibration and testing engineering community
  • Test vehicle installations, monitoring and removals
  • Work with communication tools, including INCA, V-spy, CAN, Neo VI, etc.
  • Lab tasks are documented and always available
