POSITION DESCRIPTION We're looking for an Engineering Director to lead our TPRM Engineering function. You'll own the infrastructure, internal services, applications, and developer experience that power Sayari's Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) platform. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll set technical direction, make critical architecture decisions, and work directly with engineers on complex problems. You'll also be responsible for building and mentoring the team as we scale. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Infrastructure & Platform Kubernetes infrastructure on GKE, including multi-tenant deployment strategies GitOps workflows (FluxCD) for configuration management and deployments Graph database infrastructure (JanusGraph/Cassandra) serving our core property graph capabilities Workflow orchestration (Cadence) for durable, long-running business processes, both internal and external Authorization & Identity Authorization architecture for multi-tenant B2B SaaS (RBAC + ABAC hybrid model) Auth0 integration for authentication and organization management Fine-grained access control across resources, roles, and risk domains Internal Services Internal APIs and gRPC services that power product features Developer tooling and self-service capabilities for product teams Observability, reliability, and operational excellence across the platform Team & Process Hiring, mentoring, and developing platform engineers Establishing technical standards and design review processes Collaborating with product engineering, security, and Devops functions Driving cloud cost optimization—monitoring spend, right-sizing infrastructure, and making build vs. buy decisions SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Technical depth in distributed systems You've built and operated multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure at scale You understand the trade-offs between build vs. buy decisions (and have opinions about when each is appropriate) You can go deep on authorization models, database architectures, and workflow patterns You're comfortable with Kubernetes, cloud-native tooling, and infrastructure-as-code Architectural judgment You favor stable, simple solutions over clever ones You know when to defer decisions and when to commit You can articulate trade-offs clearly in design documents and get buy-in from stakeholders You've navigated migrations—whether from single-tenant to multi-tenant, monolith to services, or other significant architectural shifts Leadership without ego You lead through influence, not authority You write clearly and value readable documentation You're comfortable being hands-on when needed and stepping back when the team has it handled You create environments where engineers do their best work You must be able to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, from engineers to executive stakeholders.
