The role

This is a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe running of our operation at London Stansted Airport. You will report directly to the Head of Engineering Operations, and take a leading role in proactive and reactive maintenance. Your key responsibilities will be:

• Direct line management of Terminal Engineering Technicians
• Matrix management of external engineering teams when required
• Create a collaborative and development focused culture within the team
• Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership
• Coordination and monitoring of engineering activities
• Manage deployment to ensure sufficient cover of all areas
• Ensure clear reporting of defects and timely rectification
• Performance management, talent and succession plans for your team
• Prioritise safety at all times
• Overall delivery of terminal engineering works
• Contingency planning and response

What will make you successful in the role?

In order to be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

• Professional qualifications in Engineering - HND as a minimum
• Working towards Chartership or equivalent
• Track record of applying continuous improvement tools - Lean, 6 Sigma as examples
• Experience managing and driving business change
• Empathetic approach to management
• Experience working within a live operational and regulated environment
• Experience managing operational and project budgets
• Clear communication and experience writing detailed reports
