YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ years of work experience
  • Strong functional knowledge of automotive thermal management system
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership with 2+ years in experience in leading or managing software, algorithm or controls development teams with strong technical skills
  • Hands-on proficiency with C, C++, MATLAB/SIMULINK or Python
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading, mentoring, and guiding engineers
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Experience in recruiting engineers and outside services
  • Basic knowledge of Machine Learning tools
  • Familiar with the commonly used SW and system verification environments (HIL)

WHAT CAN GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Graduate Degree – Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ years of work experience and 2+ years of experience in leading or managing s/w algorithm or controls development teams
  • Demonstrated experience in leading software or algorithm development teams in thermal or battery systems management
  • Experience with thermal management systems software such as GT-Power and data recording/analytics are a plus
  • Strong understanding of Agile Develop methods and Scaled Agile Framework
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Manage a group of engineers to develop and deliver service, remedial actions and product health monitoring software in C for various hardware components within the thermal systems, on schedule.
  • Be hands-on by leading high-impact efforts and driving technical decisions or consensus across studies and projects.
  • Serve as the champion and sole owner of product quality and testing within your domains.
  • Lead development of automated test scripts to continuously verify the functional capability of software for airflow controls, coolant systems, and refrigerant systems.
  • Support testing and scripting efforts for the development of thermal control systems software within Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and vehicle testing
  • Proactively prevent issues, contain critical problems quickly, implement final fixes, and institutionalize corrective actions to eliminate systemic issues.
  • Perform risk assessments and trade-off analyses to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure the engineering group follows Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles to perform work effectively.
  • Ensure team members are positioned to meet cost, quality, and timing goals for deliverables.
  • Create development and learning opportunities for employees and drive high levels of engagement.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for the team to add value (e.g., Continuous Exploration, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment).
  • Support recruiting, lead hiring efforts, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Forecast and manage the group’s annual budget.
  • Navigate ambiguity and change with proficiency and resilience.
