Throughout the year Lam Research, can help students with study backgrounds in physics, chemistry, software, mechanical or electrical engineering example roles/internships:

• Process engineer, hands-on work in the lab operating/developing processes on our deposition equipment or
• Engineering development (Software/mechanical), part of the team developing the newest modules to push our technology forward

Type of work: cleanroom work, computer work;
Length of internship: 3-6 months

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Physics, chemistry, software, mechanical or electrical engineering major pursuing Bachelor or Master of Science degree
• 5S methodology knowledge and experience
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience
• Fast learner and highly motivated individual
• Team player with good communication skills
• Good presentation and analytical skills
• Proactive, inquisitive, and not afraid to find answers
• Data and team driven with a “Let’s Prove It” mindset

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO

• The intern will need to leverage their knowledge of 5S, Lean Six Sigma, PSDM (Problem Solving & Decision Making), and project management methodologies.
• Apply engineering knowledge to optimize processes, systems, and organizations
• Work with project lead to develop, implement, and drive continuous improvement of lab processes and systems in a cross-functional environment
• Coordinate testing and collection of lab user feedback on system usability and performance
• Analyze data and create metrics for lab process or system key performance indicators
• Present project updates in leadership, cross-functional team, and internship meetings
