Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based at one of our locations in Ontario, including Markham, Mississauga and Thornhill.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical development and delivery of transportation infrastructure in a municipal environment.
  • Design of civil systems related to roads, highways, and other transportation facilities.
  • Supporting constructability reviews for transportation projects.
  • Preparing design documentation, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Assisting with construction cost estimates for transportation infrastructure.
  • Supporting the development of project specifications and contract documents

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related field and must have completed at least 3 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for this position. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their Bachelor’s Degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Design of new conveyance systems or condition assessment or rehabilitation of existing conveyance systems would be an asset
  • Experience with MicroStation, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD would be an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients.
