MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Working toward a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Acoustical, or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited university · Minimum GPA of 3.0 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Completed junior year · Prior internship experience and/or relevant extra-curricular activities ABOUT THE JOB! The Engineering Intern will join the New Product Development team to assist in prototype design, build and test of electro-acoustic products to include: headsets, microphones, intercoms, cable assemblies, and helmet mounted military products. The candidate will help create innovative new technologies and apply them to next generation products. A successful candidate will have solid engineering fundamentals, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire to learn. The candidate will work with an inter-disciplinary team and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, acoustical, and software engineers to complete tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES: Mechanical: · Assist in the design, documentation, and testing of new products and subsystem components. · Create detailed sub-assembly, final assembly, and part drawings to support product development. · Develop 3D models of parts and assemblies to visualize and refine designs. · Coordinate validation and testing of prototypes while collaborating with key vendors. · Compile and present engineering data to senior management for review and decision-making Electrical: · Contribute to the detailed design of RF, digital, and analog electronic circuits alongside experienced engineers. · Assist in developing test plans and engineering reports to support design and validation efforts. · Help create detailed system block diagrams to support circuit and system development. · Record, analyze, and interpret test data using appropriate statistical techniques to drive design improvements. · Support the preparation of technical reports documenting key findings from development and design studies. Acoustical: · Assist in modeling and research of new acoustic systems including speaker design and tuning, headset attenuation, and active noise reduction. · Assist with acoustical testing of new products (attenuation, frequency response) and presentation of results to senior management · Assist in maintaining quality standards for acoustic test stations and perform data analysis of results · Research new technologies / materials which may improve performance of current designs Software: · Collaborate with developers and engineers to create and improve software performance and ensure seamless hardware integration and user experience. · Work with USB-C protocol to integrate and optimize app connectivity with external hardware. · Develop, test, and debug Android applications, focusing on performance and user experience. · Utilize Microsoft FTTP terminal interface for data exchange and troubleshooting within applications. · Experience in writing code in JavaScript and other relevant languages for app functionality and UI/UX.
