Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Engineering Intern is a temporary position that allows college students, studying a technical discipline, to work for PCI to gain valuable business & technical skills that may be applied to their curriculum and to their future career. The intern will work closely with staff Engineers, Designers, Salesmen as well as manufacturing resources from equipment operators through management level personnel. The primary role is to support the engineering group in any area where assistance is needed on daily tasks and projects where their abilities are applicable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist engineering department on assigned projects Data collection related to identifying production improvement opportunities including Lean Manufacturing principles Assist in creating various manuals and guides Using CAD software update product drawings and engineering drawings. Understanding equipment troubleshooting methods Assisting other departments such as QA and Manufacturing with technical relate problem resolution. Working with and/or creating data bases for data control, manipulation and evaluation. Desire and ability to work in a diverse, fast moving, manufacturing environment. Requirements EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Minimum 1 year of College Study in Engineering Discipline, Industrial Design, or relevant technical area. EXPERIENCE: Proficient in MS Office with specific focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills for communicating within the organization. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines. Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams. Exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks a plus.
