We’re hiring driven engineering students to join our Kalamazoo team! This internship provides hands-on experience, giving students the opportunity to apply industrial and manufacturing techniques in a real-world environment. This is a part-time, hourly position based onsite at our Kalamazoo facilities. Ideal candidates are interested in working full-time in the summer and at least 20 hours a week during the school year. How You Contribute Depending on your skills and interests, your work may focus on Design, Manufacturing, or Quality: Design: Use SolidWorks to model and design custom products Participate in product design and development meetings Manufacturing: Assist engineers with production projects, including new equipment selection and process improvements Develop standard work, including work instructions and time studies Update plant layout and support process development Quality: Participate in quality initiatives, inspections, and data collection Support root cause analysis and corrective action projects Collaborate with teams to solve quality challenges and improve processes What You’ll Gain Experience In SolidWorks Product design, drafting, and modeling standards Tooling and fixture design Plant layout and process flow Welding and fabrication techniques Quality systems and problem-solving Lean manufacturing techniques Interpreting architectural and engineering drawings Project scheduling and management Collaborating with all levels and disciplines in a manufacturing environment Criteria for Success Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program (industrial, manufacturing, design, mechanical, or related field) Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage Familiarity with SolidWorks CAD software is a plus Work Environment Most work will be in an office environment, with time spent in the shop where conditions may be noisy and dirty.
