Description Job Description: Works with the Engineering team and Operations departments to improve efficiency and quality as well as engineering components with some 3D part creation. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the design and development of boat components and systems using CAD software (Solidworks). Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of engineering designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, design, prototyping, product integration, and lamination. Participate in process improvement initiatives within production and assembly operations. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues on the production floor or in prototyping. Navigate and work within complex CAD assemblies. Develop jigs and fixtures Other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities for Success in this Position: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization. Excellent organization and project management skills Ability to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management. Strong attention to detail. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success in this Position: Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Must be available for 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some knowledge of CAD applications is desirable (AutoCAD, Rhino, VCarve, NX). Experience with SolidWorks Enterprise PDM. Experience with 3D Printing Familiarity with composites, fiberglass, or marine systems Manufacturing experience desired. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally. Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods. Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary. This is a safety-sensitive position.
