We are seeking a two Engineering interns to support our government customer programs at our BadgerWorks facility in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. This role is a temporary, on-site position. Work location: Onsite in office environment located in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Local candidates preferred. Relocation assistance, housing, or stipends are not provided. Security: Must be a US Citizen to successful complete a government issued background investigation (must have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years) Program dates: 10-week summer internship, June 1 – August 6, 2026 Work hours: 32 hours per week Education: Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, Applied Physics, or other similar relevant discipline Must be a current junior or senior in college at the time of application, or postgraduate. Key Role: Work in a cutting-edge collaborative matrix environment creating innovative mechanical solutions for multiple government and internal projects. Utilize cutting edge Digital tools, such as Creo, Windchill and Nastran Finite Element Analysis tools to work closely with our Sr. Mechanical Engineers, System Engineers, Electronic Engineers, and Project Mangers to develop and build complex and innovative solutions to solve problems and issues for our warfighters’ needs quickly and without compromise. Continually utilize all of the available tools to rapidly develop prototype, including additive manufacturing conventional subtractive manufacturing, advanced fabricating techniques and CNC machine tools, within an AS9100 environment with an emphasis on quality and rapid development. Basic Qualifications: Understanding of Creo, Solidworks ,or similar high-end solid modelling software Understanding of Windchill or similar configuration management experience Demonstrated ability to be able to work without supervision and accomplish assigned goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be a US Citizen to meet government contract requirements Must be able to satisfactorily pass a company background check Desired Qualifications: Understanding or experience performing Finite Element Analysis utilizing Nastran or Ansys System Engineering knowledge and experience, familiar with MBSE and Digital Engineering tools Multi-discipline Engineering knowledge in areas such as polymers, fasteners, fluids, coatings and composites Active knowledge of testing and qualification methods and tools such as X-ray, Strain Gages, Accelerometers, high-speed photography, as well as familiarity of testing methods and standards Interns will work closely with dedicated mentors and managers, fostering meaningful connections within our company while exploring a range of technology disciplines. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects developed by our tech experts. While extensive work experience is not required, a commitment to learning and a genuine passion for emerging technological advancements are essential.
