Description Reporting to the Director of Engineering or delegate of the TEC unit, this role leads some Engineering projects as delegated. The successful candidate will be driven by a strong bias for action, continuous improvement, and solid employee relations. As such, the Engineering Intern will be responsible for delivering on a lean manufacturing strategy that improves material flow and reduces cost of poor quality. This position may also be involved in working with engineering and sales to introduce new manufacturing capabilities into the shop in support of the unit’s growth strategies. Overhaul and prepare technical documents under the supervision of a senior engineer. Assist engineering and quality in root cause corrective action activities. Track projects to assure completion Complete a furnace controller installation including implementation of furnace cycle programs. Devise and implement a media change out process for a media blast unit. Assist Senior engineers in completing other tasks as assigned. Requirements Required Education and Experience: Two years of study towards a B.S degree in Engineering (Chemical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, etc.) Preferred Education and Experience: Familiar with aerospace coating processes and technologies. Understanding of PLC controls and basic industrial equipment controls. Proficiency in continuous improvement techniques like Six Sigma, Heijunka, Kaizen, Lean Flow. Technical data maintenance and reporting for tracking critical process parameters in support of process improvement activities. Aerospace coating and chemical processes.
