Job Description Position Purpose: This internship position supports the New Incineration Project by doing field validation versus the Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and assisting in the development of the Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures for the isolation of hazardous energy from equipment. Working collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams, the intern will help create an organized, easily accessible digital library of Lockout / Tagout procedures. The position provides hands-on experience in the process of isolating the hazardous energy from equipment. Primary Duties /Responsibilities: Education: Pursuing degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field with similar coursework fundamentals. Technical Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and the process of isolating hazardous energy from equipment. Ability to read a P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams). Key Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, interest in industrial automation, and ability to read technical documentation Responsibilities: Development of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures. Work Environment: Environments vary from office to field to plant. Qualifications Education / Experience / Background: Strong Computer Skills (preferably with Chromebook) College Coursework in engineering familiarized with instrumentation and/or maintenance (preferred) Experience with P&ID’s and LOTO Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills Ability to Work Well with Others Willingness to Learn New Skills and Technologies Spreadsheet Proficiency (GoogleSheets and/or Microsoft Excel) PDF Editing and Management Knowledge (preferred) Ability to Follow Detailed, Complete Instructions Motivated and Collaborative Team Player Additional Information Benefits: Interns are considered temporary employees.
