The role

This company is one of Australia's largest investing platforms, used by 750,000+ people to trade, invest and run their own super. They are expanding their engineering leadership and have multiple Engineering Technical Lead roles open, each owning a different product. As a lead you will own a product squad, set the technical direction, and grow a small, senior team, typically from a handful of engineers up to six to eight. These are genuinely hands-on roles: you stay close to the code while leading the people, the architecture and the delivery.

About you

• A proven people leader: you have formally managed and grown a team of engineers, including hiring, mentoring and handling performance.
• A strong technical leader who sets direction while staying hands-on.
• A strong, backend-focused full stack engineer.
• Experience leading in a scale-up, scaling both teams and systems.
• Nice to have: Golang, GCP and Kubernetes.
• Nice to have: fintech, payments or other regulated-domain experience.

The offer

• $200,000 to $220,000 base, plus equity and a performance bonus tied to company results. For experienced managers capable of managing multiple teams, salary is up to $250k base.
• Sydney based, hybrid, three days a week in the office.
